A unique opportunity for global growth, business-to-business networking and discovery
For its 20th anniversary, the annual MIGS (Montréal International Game Summit), presented by XP Gaming, will be offering an edition 100% devoted to business and the development of the Quebec video game industry and its members. On November 8 and 9, from 9am to 5pm, at Marché Bonsecours, participants will be able to make their mark and establish global partnerships.
A unique and exceptional showcase
“This anniversary edition will be dedicated to promoting the industry, its innovative companies and talented creators,” says Jean-Jacques Hermans, Executive Director of La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec. Returning to the original formula of our event will help foster the growth of Quebec independent studios of all sizes. So anyone who’s involved should take part. MIGS remains the country’s flagship annual video game gathering, and the only one that focuses on the Quebec video game industry, one of the world’s leading video game ecosystems.
New organization team
In keeping with its mission to promote and advance the industry, MIGS will be held this year in collaboration with a new partner, XP Gaming. This event producer is notably associated with events such as XP Game Developer Summit, XP Gaming Education Fair and Level Up Showcase. It will be accompanied by l’Agence 360, a Montreal-based company renowned for its expertise in experiential marketing. XP has already put in place the winning conditions to boost the profile of the entire Quebec video game sector.
Rich and varied content
Among the many features on the program are a host of conferences covering key industry themes and issues: the current state of the industry, the impact of artificial intelligence on business decisions, the ethical use of artificial intelligence, tips and advice for financing at every stage, solving the shortage of experienced workers, marrying the ever-changing needs of the industry with training, and more.
Panel discussions, networking opportunities for constructive and business partnerships, some 60 exhibitors and a zone showcasing independent studios will also be featured.
Meeting players where they are
“The general public section, which used to attract several thousand enthusiasts each year, will now take a different form. Instead,” explains Jean-Jacques Hermans, “we’re going to meet them in every region and present our innovative and stimulating games at public events that are already well established throughout Quebec. In this way, opportunities will be multiplied throughout the year, rather than over a few days. What’s more, such an approach is in line with our desire to promote the industry everywhere in Quebec.”
