As a game culture evangelist, Tony’s journey began with the Atari era, and he has delivered over 200 talks on game-related topics. With over two decades of experience in interaction design, creative direction, and development, he remains active in the global indie game, game education, and retro gaming scenes, and has been a witness to the rise of the Chinese indie game scene.
Tony has been the host of the Indie Game Track at CGDC (China Game Developers Conference) , the founder of the North American Game Major Student Salon during GDC since 2017, and a mentoring expert at the Light of Hope Game Innovation Base at Caohejing in Shanghai. He has served as a judge for domestic and international gaming competitions including the Unity China Development Competition, Tencent Game Awards, and Game Connection, among others. He is also a lecturer at the Communication University of China’s Game Design Department, and a practitioner of gamified education and game history research. Tony serves as an advisor to the MetaBreak Video Game Museum and the Homo Ludens Archive, and is the creator of the “Experience-Driven Game Prototype Workshop” series. He is also widely known as “熊拖泥.”
