Social Design: Creating Connections and Making Better Games

EA’s Player Connection team is a multidisciplinary team with expertise in social psychology, user experience, game design, and educational development. In this talk, the Player Connection Team will introduce you to the growing field of social systems design in video games and walk you through the team’s approach to advising on social design for some of EA’s largest franchises, educating studios on best practices, and improving outcomes for players. We’re here to answer the big questions like: ‘How can I make my player’s social experience better?’, ‘Why do I want to invest resources in social design?’ and, maybe even most importantly, ‘What is social design anyway?’.
